São Paulo Education Tango Program, in partnership with ASAS – (Association of female lawyers, interns and academics of law of São Paulo State), will perform starting this year, 2017, the project “TANGUEANDO E SEMEANDO” , in the city of Sao Paulo.
The project which has 3 phases, aims to form couples, each one either from a CEU (Unified Educational Center) from the city of Sao Paulo, or from a State School of Sao Paulo State, while being sure that this professional knowledge will provide opportunity for financial independence for all couples, and at the same time, giving back to the community.
Looking at dance as a sport may aid in the fight against women’s violence, and it provides discipline, respect and equality. OUN’s project for fighting violence against women in 2017, aims to do it, through sport.
Add that to the endeavor to access talented young people without means to learn a rhythm that has a whole realm full of possibilities.
Tango nowadays is present all around the world. Our goal is to teach and spread it!
Our proposition is – beyond learning the style – opening doors at a professional level for these couples that will commit to, after a year and a half, to pass on this opportunity to their CEUs or State School.
The first phase consists in teaching 3 classes and participating at a lecture in each institute. Once these classes are done, there will be an individual performance for each couple – dance style of their choice – for a board of specialized jurors, where the selection for couples that will remain in the project will happen.
Second phase consists in the participation of said selected couples at Sao Paulo Tango Festival, having classes with both national and international teachers. They will also be a part of the show happening at the theater.
Third phase is tango knowledge itself, for a period of 3 years.
